Kyle Snyder, who trained with Pennsylvania’s Nittany Lion Wrestling Club, took home the Olympic silver medal for Team USA after wrestling Russian Olympic Committee’s Abdulrashid Sadulaev in the 97-kilogram (214-pound) final.

According to Team USA's website, Snyder won his first Olympic gold medal in 2016 at just 20 years old.

“Congrats to Kyle Snyder on bringing home the Olympic silver for Team USA and Pennsylvania’s Nittany Lion Wrestling Club!” Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf (D) Tweeted August 7.

For his part, Snyder discussed areas for improvement following the gold medal match.

“There are definitely some positions that I have got to get better in,” he said, according to Team USA. “That is what I’m thinking about. I have got to finish those attacks, so that is what I’m going to do.”

This year’s Olympics marks the third time Snyder and Sadulaev have gone head-to-head since the first time in the 2017 World Championship, which Snyder won. The Russian has a 2-1 record against Snyder. Snyder’s silver medal is has been added to Team USA’s nine other wrestling medals during the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

U.S. wrestler Sarah Hildebrandt also took bronze in the women's competition.
